Deserving Dad Gets A Little Piece Of His Big Dreams Back

How do you thank someone who gave up everything, sacrificed so much, and worked so hard to give you the best life possible?

The truth is, you can't. You can't make up for a lifetime of hardship and deferred dreams. All you can do is honor those choices, express gratitude for them, and make that person feel as special as they have done for you.

That's all Jeff could do for his father, Lewis.

Lewis always knew he was going to be a huge country star, but then more important things got in the way. He chose to be a father, and a damn good one, over pursuing his dreams of superstardom. He started a pesticide business and worked a second job at a factory to give his two sons the life he felt they deserved. But his family always knew Lewis deserved something more. They encouraged him to never give up on his dreams, but Lewis took his duty as a father seriously. The country singer's sacrifice was worth it.

In 2015, Jeff decided to give his dad a piece of his dreams back for Father's Day.

It was an emotional journey that left both father and son in tears. Jeff surprised Lewis with a tour bus filled with his family. They drove to Memphis, where Lewis was able to record his own song at Sun Studio, where Elvis, John Cash, and Jerry Lee Lewis once recorded some of their biggest hits. Jeff was even coached by country music star Josh Turner. It was an incredible experience the entire family would never forget.

"I have always thought of them first because they meant so much to me. I don't know what I would have done without them," Lewis said.
