Kordale and Kaleb made headlines when they posted a picture of themselves doing their daughters' hair on Instagram. They captioned the photo, "Being fathers is getting our daughters up at 5.30am making breakfast getting them dressed for school and putting them on the bus by 6.30."
Had this been a picture of a mother and father in the bathroom with their kids, I highly doubt the photo would've received such attention. But instead, Kordale and Kaleb's one photo received more than 40,000 likes — while sparking a heated debate about sex parenting.
Amidst many positive and inspired comments, the Atlanta couple's picture garnered tons of homophobic, racist and incredibly hateful comments. Their family was under attack.
However, instead of backing away from public scrutiny, Kordale and Kaleb decided to brush it off, focus on the light and make their voices even louder.
Recently, the couple became part of Nikon's new "I Am Generation Image" ad campaign, starring in a video (below) about them and their three wonderful adoptive children, Desmiray, Malia, and Kordale Jr.
"We just want people to know that, hey, we're normal. And you can't judge people on their normal – you really can't," Kordale says. "It was a simple innocent picture. I'm still amazed."
Bravo, guys.
