Kraft’s Famous Macaroni & Cheese Is Making One Huge Change… Parents Need To See This!

Many Americans can easily distinguish the bright orange color of Kraft Macaroni & Cheese, a pasta dish reminiscent of their childhoods.

But now, after more than 75 years, the company is altering the product that so many children love. Starting in 2016, Kraft will remove artificial preservatives and synthetic colors and replace them with paprika, annatto, and turmeric.

“We know parents want to feel good about the foods they eat and serve their families,” said company spokeswoman Lynne Galia.

The controversial dyes currently found in the product — Yellow 5 and Yellow 6 — are banned in some European countries because of their negative health effects, such as hyperactivity.

As many food companies within the U.S. are becoming just as health-conscious, several bloggers have long urged Kraft to take their cue. Vani Hari, who runs the health blog Food Babe, started a petition in 2013 on Change.org, which was signed by more than 350,000 people.

Yet, Kraft said the impending changes aren't a result of the aforementioned bloggers. The company also promises that its product won’t be much different.

"Our loyal fans told us they don't want their Kraft Mac & Cheese to look or taste different," Galia said. "We've worked hard so the new recipe will have the same look and taste that people know and love from the iconic blue box."
