For over 30 years, The Lawrence Welk Show brought wholesome and delightful entertainment into our homes. Who doesn't remember those floating bubbles and that "champagne music" of the orchestra?! Definitely simpler, better times.
During the span of his television career, Lawrence Welk fostered many bright new talents — including the wonderful Lennon Sisters. Dubbed "America's sweethearts," this adorable quartet warmed the hearts and dazzled the eyes of families all over. Dianne, Peggy, Kathy, and little Janet first stole our hearts in their 1955 television debut. They quickly secured themselves as a mainstay of The Lawrence Welk Show, performing with the show until 1968.
Today, these lovely sisters are still performing and touring the country! Although there have been some changes to the quartet (Dianne and Peggy have retired and youngest sister Mimi has joined), these ladies are still delighting us with their talent and warmth. In a time where bands come and go, marriages last only a few months, and trends change like the tides, it's incredible that The Lennon Sisters have been performing for 60 years!
