For 13 Years, This Lion Was Locked In A Cage. Now Watch His Reaction To Freedom.

For 13 years, a magnificent lion was imprisoned in a circus, living in a tiny cage where he could barely move. When this lion named Will was rescued and brought to the Rancho dos Gnomos Santuário in Brazil, the cameras were rolling when he was finally free of the circus life. The video below shows his wonderful release onto the grounds of Will' brand new home.

We recently saw the rescue of Pancho and Temuco, two magnificent lions rescued from a circus where they too were forced into performance. Now, you're about to share a touching moment with a gorgeous lion who finally touches the earth and grass for the first time ever. I couldn't help but smile watching Will playfully collapse in the dirt, dig his claws through the cool soil, and lay on his back in the grass.

According to Big Cat Rescue, lions and tigers are often beaten, starved, and confined for long periods of time in order to get them to cooperate with the trainers.

Though this video was filmed in 2006, it was only just released to the public this week. In 2011, Will died of old age. Thank God he was able to experience freedom and love before he passed away.
