Simon loved his daughter Mia more than anything. They had a great relationship that he cherished, so when she began to act strangely, he felt like he needed to get to the bottom of what was going on with his beloved little girl.
It all started after a seemingly ordinary visit to the park near their house. There was a park bench on the recreation grounds and Mia cried and cried to her dad because she didn’t want to walk away from it. Simon was perplexed by this behavior as it had never happened before.
Going to the park together was a lovely tradition for the father and daughter. They visited the park almost every weekend for the past two years, but one day Mia was suddenly filled with dread about leaving the park bench and heading home. It seemed almost absurd, but Simon knew there must be a reason for it.
The weekend came around again, so Simon and Mia headed off to the park. Simon paid extra attention this time and noticed that Mia grabbed the lunch bag that they brought and ran up to the bench she was fascinated with and stared into a nearby wooded area like she was waiting for someone to appear.
After a couple of hours of playing, Simon looked at his watch and knew they needed to get home for dinner. He told Mia that it was time to head home and she immediately put up a fight. He told her that the lunch bag she brought could be left on the bench if she wanted, and Mia agreed.
