In 2012, DeAnne Stidham was a working mom looking for a way to earn a living while staying at home with her kids. Utilizing her background in direct sales and fashion, DeAnne founded what would eventually become LuLaRoe.
While the brand sells everything from women's dresses to maxi skirts, pencil skirts, A-line skirts, and sheath dresses, the company is best known for its line of colorful leggings.
The famous leggings are made from polyester and spandex, and are often described as “buttery” and silky soft by the brand’s many enthusiasts (yes, these leggings have true fans).
Patterns range from geometric prints and florals to French bulldogs wearing hair bows. Seriously, good luck ever getting your hands on a pair of plain black leggings. (They do exist, but they’re the most difficult LuLaRoe leggings to find!)
Each print is produced in limited quantities of around 2,500 pieces, which creates high demand for certain styles and is part of the novelty. On eBay, it’s not uncommon to find listings for "unicorn" LuLaRoe leggings that are selling for double or triple their original retail value!
