You can never be sure what happens at your place of business in the hours you’re not there until you show up and make your presence known.
Henry was a successful restaurateur who was usually so busy with his other business ventures that he didn’t have much time to physically check in with the restaurants he’d invested in. One day, he wasn’t sure why, but he got a feeling that he needed to head to one of his nearby restaurants that was run by a manager named Hannah and do a proper check-in.
It was getting kind of late, but Henry knew that he could check in with the night staff, including the cleaning crew, to see how the day went. When he arrived at the restaurant, he expected to see some of the staff putting leftovers in containers to take to nearby homeless shelters, but that wasn’t the case.
Henry was met with an older woman who appeared to be around 90 years old. He didn’t think this was someone’s grandmother as she was in the middle of taking some food out of the fridge and putting it into some takeout containers.
When Henry came back the next day to speak to the manager, he was surprised to see the older woman from the night before in a work uniform speaking to Hannah. Henry was so confused that he told Hannah that he was going out of town for a few weeks and wouldn’t be back until the end of the month.

Henry didn’t like lying to his staff, but he wanted to come back later to see if he could properly piece together what was happening when he wasn’t there.
