Woman Who Overhears Man On Train Talking About Being Unfaithful Launches Hunt For ‘Cheating Ben’

We sometimes overhear conversations that we shouldn't. When this happens, we have two options: We can either act like we didn't hear the sensitive information, or we can do our part to act on said sensitive intel.

Twitter user Emily Shepss overheard a man who we will be referred to from now on as "cheating Ben" talking to his friends about being involved with a woman who wasn't his girlfriend.

Emily decided that it was her moral obligation to do what she could to expose "cheating Ben" once and for all.

It's a little bit like the recent story involving two women who went to Chicago together to expose their own cheating husbands, except this time, Emily solicited the help of other Twitter users to reveal "cheating Ben's" true identity.

Far more people ended up becoming involved with the manhunt for "cheating Ben" than Emily ever imagined. Of course, not everyone was thrilled with Emily's involvement in the matter.

Emily shared her battle cry on Twitter:

If anyone has a boyfriend called Ben on the Bournemouth – Manchester train right now, he’s just told his friends he’s cheating on you. Dump his a**.

Emily's message was clear and to the point. She had no intention of letting Ben get away with kissing and telling.

If you think about it, perhaps Ben shouldn't have been so careless about sharing incriminating information on public transportation.

Moreover, this was not a short train ride. Emily surely could have shared some more gory details of Ben's account of cheating.

There is certainly no right way to be told or to find out that your significant other is being unfaithful.

Would you rather hear from a stranger or not at all? It's a tricky question.

Despite a lot of interest in Emily's manhunt, she has been unable to identify Ben as of this writing.

However, not everyone wanted to help Emily find Ben. Some people on social media accused Emily of being a snake and a "grass."

If you're wondering what a "grass" is, the phrase is British slang for snitch, according to Word Detective.

Sill, many people jumped to Emily's defense and agreed that her actions were well in line with girl code.

The truth is that "cheating Ben" shouldn't be cheating at all, and if he is, he should have known better than to broadcast it in public during the internet age.
