When this amazing video first started playing I was terrified that one of these Marines was going to be injured, but after a few seconds I saw what they were doing — and let me just say you have to watch these guys in action!
We've all come to expect the amazing talents that come with the United States Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon, but every time I think I've seen them at their very best, a new video will come up out of nowhere that shows these Marines doing the unthinkable!
This 24-man rifle platoon performs some truly unique and precise silent drills, all to exemplify the discipline and professionalism of America's best! Becoming a member of this elite platoon is a trial in itself: To start with, all candidates must be male and must be between 5'11" and 6'1" tall and be in the median weight for their height. Uniformity is the key asset for these hardcore Marines.
Once they've been selected, they're assigned to the Marine Barracks in our nation's capitol, from there they hone their infantry skills while performing their ceremonial duties as members of "The Marching Twenty-Four."
But what makes this video truly special is who these Marine's are working with! They're proudly showing off their talents alongside their fellow Navy members of The Blue Angels! I love what happens at the :44 mark, it made my heart skip a beat to watch this behemoth Lockheed Martin C-130 Hercules fly so close to the ground. But by the end I was cheering!
