On Monday, March 27, 2023, at around 10:30 a.m., yet another school shooting occurred, this time in Nashville, Tennessee, at the Covenant School. The lives of three 9-year-olds and three adults were senselessly cut short. It’s an epidemic that is all too commonplace in the United States, with nothing being done about it.
Actress Melissa Joan Hart was on hand when the shooting occurred. Her children go to a nearby school, and she and her husband, musician Mark Wilkerson, were on their way to their parent-teacher conferences when they noticed young students running away from the school. They pulled over to help. Melissa spoke out about this on Instagram.
“We helped a class of kindergartners across a busy highway. They were climbing out of the woods. They were trying to escape the shooter situation at their school. So we helped all these tiny little kids cross the road and get their teachers over there, and we helped a mom reunite with her children,” Melissa tearily recalled.
Melissa, like many, is fed up. “I don’t just don’t know what to say anymore. Enough is enough. And just pray. Pray for the families,” she added.

This is not the first time Melissa and her family have been close to a school shooting. The family previously lived in Connecticut before moving to Tennessee. They were close to Sandy Hook Elementary.
"So this is our second experience with a school shooting with our kids being in close proximity," she explained. "Luckily, we are all OK.”
