For more than 200 years, the tune "Taps" has been a very well-known part of the American military. From military funerals to other events, "Taps" is a song that most of us have become familiar with.
However, despite the song's popularity, it's not something that many of us get to hear performed live. This year, however, attendants at the American Veterans Center Memorial Day Parade in Washington, D.C. were fortunate enough to hear the song played live at the start of the event.
Although the song may sound simple, men and women of the military consider it an honor to play. After all, the military doesn't allow just anyone to play "Taps," especially in front of large crowds.
With that being said, you can probably already imagine that the song was played flawlessly, but it's the crowd that caught my attention the most.
In a world where most people find it difficult to stay still and silent for just a few seconds, these people remained completely respectful while the song was being played.
With all of the crazy things happening in the world, it's nice to see people taking a moment to honor and appreciate the United States military, and all the men and women who serve have done for the country.
