An important part of parenting is discipline. It's a parent's responsibility to teach their child right and wrong and to guide them along the way. Unfortunately, some parents don't know the proper way to discipline their children. Maybe they never had someone to teach them, but sometimes their disciplinary acts go too far.
Florida woman Melany Joyce Alexander, 31, thought she was teaching her daughter (age withheld) a lesson when she sent her to school in a T-shirt that publicly shamed her. You can see images of the T-shirt and her shocking message below. It seems her intention was to teach her daughter the value of education, but her methods clearly went too far.
Reportedly, her daughter had been failing her classes and her mother believed it was because of her "social life." Her mother warned that her daughter wasn't allowed to have friends until her "Fs are all brought up."
Unfortunately, the message on the shirt also revealed much scarier forms of discipline. The mother wrote that the daughter had also received a "woopin," and the shirt threatened to do it again.
Teachers notified authorities about the shirt and reporting officers claim that the student was found with bruises and belt marks. The mother admitted to arresting officers that she used excessive force while disciplining the child.
The child was given an appropriate T-shirt to wear for the day, and the mother is currently being held with a $2,500 bond and being ordered to not contact the child.
It's a horrible shame that the mother behaved this way, but perhaps we can use it as a learning experience.

"So unless you are helping me with this goal…Back off! My eating French fries & being a social butterfly is over because I know why my parents send me to school. I know the IMPORTANCE of my education. I will learn. I will listen to my teachers and be respectful, at all times. I will do these things because I am failing [redacted] due to my social life. Want to be my friend [smily face]. Help me by not!!! [name redacted]."
