Unfortunately, bullying remains a big problem in high schools across the country … but it's typically the students who are the bullies and not the teachers entrusted with our children's education.
Back in 2019, a Minnesota mom named Melissa Petrangelo Scaia was contacted by another parent who tracked her down on Facebook.
The other mom told Melissa that her 13-year-old son was one of a handful of students being bullied by their seventh grade science teacher.
For months, the caller's teenage son had been secretly recording the teacher's classroom comments using his iPhone. Despite the fact he wasn't one of the kids being picked on, he'd grown so tired of seeing his classmates fall victim to the verbal abuse that he decided to do something about it — by trying to catch their teacher in the act.
The student ended up with hours of tapes.
Melissa says she didn’t believe the extent of these claims until she heard these secret recordings for herself. She was so shocked and appalled by what she heard that she came forward to share her story.
