Admit it – you've complained about your body image at least once in your life. Everyone has. Yet, you've probably never considered how your own self-image affects others. After you see this video, you may never complain again.
Dove's latest emotional campaign aimed at women takes a stab at how mothers' negative body image is mirrored in their young children. Daughters listen to their mothers. If you're a parent, you've definitely heard your kid repeat one of your sayings and laugh about it, but what parent wants to hear their kids repeat the negative comments?
In the video, Dove asked mothers to list the things they don't like about their bodies and then read it aloud. Next, they had their daughters do the same thing, but had the moms read their lists. It turned out that if mom hates her eyes or thighs, the little girls say the same thing.
This video is a touching lesson in parenting and having a positive body image. We all have the little things we wish we could change, but we should also be grateful and accepting of ourselves. Help stop the vicious cycle and own what you've got!
