‘World’s Most Identical’ Twins Are Trying To Have Babies At The Same Time With Same Man

If you thought your family was bizarre, get ready for some serious perspective. A set of Australian twins who claim to be the "world's most identical twins" are both attempting to get pregnant by the same man.

The twins, Anna and Lucy DeCinque, have shared the same boyfriend for years. The sisters are literally inseparable — from the moment they wake up to the moment they go to sleep, they spend every moment together. They even shower and go to the bathroom together.

So for these two, the idea of sharing the same boyfriend was the only acceptable choice.

"To be honest, it's easy for us to share a partner," they said in a 2017 video. "It's so much easier."

In December 2019, they confirmed that they both want to have a baby with their partner, Ben Byrne. Preferably at the exact same time. The only problem is, they're not sure how to make that happen. But it's 2022 and they are still trying!

Anna and Lucy DeCinque are twins from Australia. They were once deemed the "world's most identical twins," and the title is now their favorite tagline.

From the time that Anna and Lucy were young, they enjoyed dressing alike. As they got older, though, their desire to meld into one person only grew stronger.

Now they try to look 100% identical every single day, down to each strand of hair on their head. They've even had the same plastic surgeries done.

Anna says she gets "anxiety" when she thinks about the fact that they had different hairstyles once upon a time.

Beyond looks, the twins also try to live the exact same life. They eat the same food, shower and go to the bathroom at the same time, and sleep in the same bed. They take the same number of steps each day.

Oh, and they share the same Instagram profile.

With their intensely close-knit lifestyle, having independent dating lives just doesn't work for the sisters.

"We have dated guys separately," Lucy said. "But it hasn't worked, because they didn't understand how we were so close. They wanted to separate us, and they wanted to take us out separately, and we're like, 'No, we always want to be together.' It just got too hard."

They came up with the only rational solution: to date the same man.

Enter their current partner, Ben Byrne. Ben is a fraternal twin himself, so he understands the sisters' closeness more than most people would.

"What we love so much about Ben is he understands our bond," one sister said.

Polygamy is one thing — but how does sharing a partner with your sibling even work, exactly?

The three sleep in a king-size bed with their boyfriend in the middle.

"He'll kiss Anna good night, he'll kiss me goodnight," Lucy explained. "If we sit there watching a film, he'll hold both of our hands. There's just no jealousy."

The twins say that their mother and friends accept their unusual relationship, though they tend to get a lot of criticism from the general public.

But the relationship works "beautifully" for them, and they're ready for the next step.

"We would like to get married to the same man," Anna said.

They want to have children with the same man, too. And of course, they want to get pregnant at the exact same time.

"We want to experience pregnancy together, we want our bodies to look the same," Lucy said in another video, per Yahoo! Lifestyle. "Because we’re so close we always want to be together."

"It is a bit of a dilemma," she acknowledged. "We know that’s where nature comes in, we can’t control these things. You can’t force these things."

They have considered using IVF or a surrogate, though their mom would prefer that they go the natural route.

They opened up about their family planning process on an Australian morning show in December.

"Our mom is actually convincing us to go naturally, give birth naturally, so I don’t know how that’s going to work [because] we need to be pregnant at the same time,” one sister said.

How, indeed.

Though this strange setup probably makes your family look like the most boring, functional family in the world, the DeCinque sisters say they're actually really happy with their life.

Lucy explained, "This is what works for us. People need to get that. We’re not hurting anyone."
