During some routine sight-seeing at the Kruger National Park in South Africa, someone caught a baby elephant struggling in a waterhole. Somehow the little one had fallen in, and because the rocks were so slippery, was unable to get out. When his mom came over to him, she tried to lift him out with her truck, but when that didn't work, she put herself in danger and jumped in the waterhole herself.
After a few tense moments, she was finally able to get her baby out, but then because of her size and the angle of the rocks, got stuck herself! You can see her baby walking back and forth, concerned for his mother, but she refused to give up. She uses all her strength and eventually makes it out herself!
The best part is at the end of the video when the entire herd seems to gather around them, happy that both of them are safe.
This is such a wonderful video that shows the true power of a mother's love!
