Navy Mom Surprises Her Son On Graduation Day After Being Away For 9 Months

Here's a reunion that's guaranteed to make your heart melt!

When you're a teenager, your high-school graduation is the only thing that beats out major milestones like prom night and getting your driver's license as one of the biggest days in your lifetime. It's an exciting time for both student and their parents culminating four extremely long years of hard work.

Unfortunately, for many students, their parents can't be there to attend that very special day, and the result is just heartbreaking. For Paul W. Bryant High School-senior Steven Turner Jr., the new grad was OK with his mom missing the important day, as he knew mom, aka U.S. Petty Officer 2nd Class Vera Turner, was deployed in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, serving her country.

Just like when this Army soldier surprised her mother during her Masters program graduation, Officer Turner told her family she wouldn't make the ceremony, but secretly conspired with school officials to get home and make a grand entrance when her son received his diploma.

When Steven's named was passed in the line, he understandably got nervous and thought there was a problem. Little did he know that the school was truly saving the very best for last! When Steven finally had his moment and saw his mother walking up the stairs to hand him his diploma, it was a truly heart-melting experience for all in attendance.

As you can see, everyone at the high school graduation gave this military hero and mom the warm welcome home she deserved!
