The Groom’s Navy Friends Perform The Arch Of Swords And Surprise The Bride

It comes as no surprise that military men and women who have served together have a very special connection.

They trust, depend on and look out for each other while in service and as we often see here at LittleThings, it's difficult for that special bond to fade away once they return home.

Just take a look at how this group of Marines joined together to put on a truly unforgettable performance on one of their comrade's wedding day. They more than friends and coworkers, their relationship truly becomes like family…and as you can see in the following video, they tend to goof of just like brothers tend to do.

When Nicholas Oberkrom got married to the love of his life, Melanie, in his hometown of St. Louis, he was so grateful that his best friends from the United States Naval Academy flew to Missouri to take part in their big day. He couldn't imagine anyone else by his side and, the bride and groom were both thrilled when some of the Navy officers helped perform the traditional Arch of Swords to welcome the bride to the Navy when they exited the church.

However, being the goofballs they are, these officers weren't going to let the Oberkroms through that easily. As they stopped before each step, the guys told Melanie and Nick "The right of passage is a kiss," before letting them pass. The groom's best friend on the bottom left decided to give Nick an especially hard time yelling "Give her one!" after a lame peck on the cheek, but it's when he swatted Melanie on the butt and said "Welcome to the Navy, Mrs. Oberkrom" that really made the ceremony amazing.
