The internet and the people who use it have a strange way of creating viral content and trends that many try to replicate or make their own. For a while, the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge took the web by a storm, for example. Dances are also quite popular, and routines like the Harlem Shake or the "Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)" have everyone from kids to cops busting a move!
Now, another dance trend is taking over: It's called the "Running Man Challenge."
It's not exactly new, but it's experiencing a revival. To the tune of the 1995 hit "My Boo" by Ghost Town DJs, people recreate Janet Jackson's famous '80s "Running Man" routine.
Recently, the New Zealand Police Recruitment Organization decided to give it a try in an attempt to show people that they can crack a joke every now and again. On their Facebook page, they write, "We catch people on the run every day, this was a new #runningmanchallenge for our team."
Set in a garage, the scene is complete with flashing car lights and fancy footwork. These officers really know how to bust a move in the name of the law. They even challenged other police recruitment stations to top their efforts at recreating the routine!
Watch the clip to see these men and women move to the beat.
