Newlyweds Forgo Reception And Feed Refugees Instead

Your wedding day is something that you will remember for the rest of your life, no matter how big and extravagant, or small and intimate it may be.

For many people, this means saving money, sometimes for years, and planning out every detail down to the very last minutes of the reception. Other couples, like the couple in this video and a special couple that gave up their dream wedding to travel around the country to complete 50 acts of kindness, decide to make their wedding day about giving to others.

When Fethullah Uzumcuoglu and Esra Polat originally had thought about their wedding, they likely hadn't planned on this kind of reception.

Over the past few months as Syrian refugees fled to their country, the Turkish couple couldn't help but to think that they should be doing something to help.

After speaking with the groom's father who is a volunteer with a relief organization, the couple decided that rather than have a big dinner with their friends and family after the wedding, that they would share it with the hungry refugees instead.

Seeing the bride and groom in their wedding attire feeding thousands of people is definitely an attention grabber, and the two hope to inspire other couples to do the same!
