‘Nosy’ Parent Eavesdrops On Teen’s Conversation, Then Hears He Wants To Kill Students

Many teens complain that their parents are too involved in their lives. It's that strange period in life when they're trying to become adults without necessarily having the responsibilities of one. They shut out their parents and keep secrets from them.

In response, parents try to keep a vigilant eye on their teens, and even take extreme measures. There are many ways to do so, like grounding their kids, or even following them to learn their whereabouts. Sometimes they catch their kids in compromising positions or lying about their activities. But thanks to these sneaky ways, some prevent their teens from getting into trouble.

And it's thanks to one parent in Arizona that families of students at Desert Oasis High School can breathe easy. The parent overheard a conversation their child was having with a friend, and paid close attention to their words.

The discovery was absolutely horrifying: The 15-year-old friend was planning to carry out a mass shooting at the school.

Instead of ignoring the conversation, the "nosy" parent called the authorities, who were able to stop the student in time. After an investigation and a search, they discovered that this was no idle threat.

Had the parent dismissed the conversation, surely a tragedy would have occurred at the high school.
