Whether you call it divine intervention, luck, or a coincidence, there's no denying that one man is lucky to have a nun as his neighbor!
David Ward was sleeping in his mobile home when he heard Sister Madonna Buder's voice, telling him to get out.
Just moments before, the nun, who is known for her participation in Ironman triathlons, heard "God's whisper." This, she says, is what our instincts are, and this "whisper" told her to draw back her window curtains — something she never does at the time of day she did.
That's when she saw the billowing white smoke, and jumped to action as soon as she realized that Ward could be in danger.
The two neighbors are safe, but the nun doesn't want to take any credit for saving Ward's life, even if he probably would have woken up a moment too late without her warning. She claims that the real heroes are the firefighters and paramedics who came to the rescue.
But just by seeing the damage, you know that these two are very lucky to be alive!
