Two Michigan Police Officers Help A Man Mow His Lawn

Two Michigan police officers are being praised for helping a wheelchair-bound man in time of need.

Last week, Officer Joe Hutson and Officer John Khillah from the Kalamazoo department spotted the resident struggling to mow his lawn. They quickly took over using a push mower, weed trimmer, and leaf blower from the Public Safety Station. Sgt. Ken Skibbe eventually joined in to help Hutson and Khillah with the yard work.

"The gentleman’s entire lawn was manicured to perfection. Many citizens stopped to view the kindness and compassion these officers displayed in helping a fellow citizen," the department wrote on its Facebook page on July 27.

Like the police officer who posed for a photo with a stranger's baby and the one who helped a college student with a flat tire, these cops received kudos from people all around the country. The Facebook post has received more than 10,000 likes and 4,000 shares in just a week.

"Thank you Kalamazoo police for doing such a wonderful thing for the disabled man," one user commented on Facebook. "I hope the neighborhood will come to his aid in future to help him out. Like they use to do back in the day. God bless you all."

Another said, "Now there's a police department with integrity! Exemplary of the true humility of a public servant! Awesome!"
