City commissioners in Greensboro, North Carolina, met on Zoom for a four-hour virtual meeting about zoning in their area. During the video call, Dr. Carrie Rosario brought up some concerns over a construction project near her home.
Rosario has a doctoral degree and is an associate professor at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. At one point, a city commissioner called her by the wrong title and quickly apologized. But when it happened again, this time with a different commissioner, she says things took an intentionally disrespectful turn.

Toward the end of the meeting, former city commissioner Tony Collins called her "Mrs. Rosario" numerous times, disregarding her doctor title — even though she kept correcting him.
She told Inside Edition that she felt "frustrated by the disregard for such a simple request."
