We all know the difficult battle with socks. When they're not going missing in the washer and dryer, they're getting eaten up with holes. It's a constant fight to keep good socks on hand.
But, unfortunately, the art of darning socks has gone the way of the dodo. It's now easier to just throw them out rather than to make the effort to salvage them.
That is, however, until this clever little life hack came along! Now, instead of just chucking your old socks, you can make use of them again — and without the aid of a sewing needle!
All you'll need is an old sock, some soil, a hook, a clothespin, and a little seedling. It may sound a little strange, but this method will not only save your useless socks, but also help to grow strong, healthy tomato plants.

If you find yourself with yet another hole-ridden sock on hand, you might want to think twice before throwing it out! It can completely transform the way you garden.

But not just any hole-y sock will do! You want one with a hole in the heel — which is a common enough problem, so it shouldn't be too hard of a hunt!

Once you've found the perfect sock, fill it up with some fresh black soil.

Then, take a little tomato seedling and plant it directly in the hole.

Next, find a small hook and pick the perfect place to screw it in. Make sure the area gets plenty of natural sunlight.

Hang your sock from the hook.

The next thing you'll need is a simple clothespin.

Gently grab the seedling's stem with the clothespin and pull it downward. This will help strengthen the stem and guide its growth.

Eventually, your tomato plant will grow and flourish. Thanks to an old, hole-eaten sock, you'll be enjoying fresh tomatoes in no time!
