He Pulls On A Huge Box In His Tiny Apartment. What Comes Out Blew Me Away!

Now this is how you make use of an itty bitty living space!

We've shown you lots of tiny houses that contain big surprises, but I didn't know something like this was even possible. Third-grade teacher Eric Schneider moved into a 450-square-foot apartment in Manhattan ten years ago. He would have liked to have more space, but he couldn't afford anything bigger. So he decided to get innovative to make the most out of his little home. Thanks to some amazing architects at Normal Projects, Eric still lives in a small apartment, but it contains one of the coolest marvels of home improvement I've ever seen!

Michael Chen and Kari Anderson created a huge structure in the middle of Eric's apartment that can unfold to create four new rooms: a bedroom with a closet and nightstand, an office with a library, a living room, and even an extra room for when guests stay over. Eric spent his first year out of college living in Japan, where he developed an appreciation for how they make the most out of small spaces, so the $70,000 he spent to renovate his apartment was definitely worth it.

I've seen other crazy homes undergo creative changes, like this little house that hides something super special in the floor. But this "origami apartment" definitely contains more secret space than anything I've ever seen. Eric has to be proud of his awesome apartment — I know I wouldn't mind living there!
