If you've ever seen a pelican dive, you know it's pretty wonderful! The large birds soar through the air and then dive deep to scoop up fish in their giant beaks. While it's not unusual to see them in packs, the following video of pelicans is definitely something you don't see every day.
While in Crucita, Ecuador, YouTube poster Maximiliano Ricci filmed an unbelievable and shocking display of pelican behavior right near the beach. While swimmers were still in the water, thousands of pelicans began to dive in the shallow water – only feet away from the humans!
It's an absolute miracle that no one was badly injured – even killed – by this modern day scene out of the thriller The Birds. Although this footage is pretty terrifying you have to admit it's also completely incredible. Nature never ceases to AMAZE!
