Adorable Penguin Couple Celebrates Their 22nd Anniversary Together

Valentine's came and went, and was certainly a big deal for most of us.

Many animals out there, however, don't need to wait til Valentine's Day to show their love and appreciation for one another.

As we've seen before, many animals in the wild form lifelong bonds with each other, and never hesitate to go out of their way to demonstrate just how much they care.

Below, we share a story of two insanely adorable penguins. The pair resides at the Audubon Aquarium of the Americas in New Orleans, and the two of them have been mates for many happy years.

This year, they celebrated their 22nd Valentine's Day, reigning as the aquarium's sweethearts and most long-lasting couple.

Told with photos from the Audubon Aquarium, their Valentine's Day was pretty spectacular — even though there was only fish on the menu!

Senior aviculturist Tom Dyer explained in the statement that Kohl and Zelda are perhaps the most loving pair of penguins that the aquarium has ever witnessed.

“We’ve seen our share of penguin heartbreak, infidelity, and sometimes joyful reunion here in our colony,” he said.
