Piers Morgan's recent comments about Kate Middleton's cancer diagnosis make some people think he's expecting too much from the Princess of Wales and not respecting her privacy. On his show Piers Morgan Uncensored, he suggested that Kate Middleton should tell the public what type of cancer she was diagnosed with.
He did admit that Kate has been more transparent than expected when it comes to her cancer diagnosis. Still, Piers posed a question that rubbed some people the wrong way: "Because of all the conspiracy theories that have swirled around about both [Kate and King Charles] for the last six months or so, would it not just be easier to say these are the cancers they're battling? Why are they reluctant to do that?"
Royal editor Sarah Hewson, who was a guest on his show, explained why Kate Middleton might be reluctant to disclose her specific diagnosis.
"I think while they're undergoing that treatment they feel very strongly that they're entitled to a degree of medical privacy and that's absolutely right," Sarah explained to Piers. He, however, seemed to double down on his belief that Kate should share what type of cancer she has.
Speaking of both Kate and King Charles, Piers said, "They both decided they want to be role models to other people and inspire people. How can you do that if you don't actually say what cancer you've got?"
Sarah pointed out that both Kate and Charles might be worried about people searching for the prognoses for the types of cancers they have, which would lead to a lot of speculation and rumors.

At this point, Piers still didn't really let up on it. He said that there's already been tons of speculation and many conspiracy theories, so he doesn't get what difference it would make.
Eventually, though, Piers did admit that it was "great to see" Kate Middleton at her first public appearance since she opened up about her cancer diagnosis.
"She looked fabulous," Piers continued, "but she did look pretty thin." He added that "she looked to me like she’d been through a really hellish time probably, and was putting a very brave face on.”
Piers also admitted that being in the position that she's in is "not easy."
On YouTube, many were extremely critical of Piers' comments and told him to "give it a rest."
"Catherine is a public person, not public property," one person commented on YouTube. "Give her space and time to heal."
Another person said that Kate Middleton and King Charles are still "entitled to personal privacy" even though they're public figures.
"How would all the people saying they should tell us what kind of cancer they have like it if their own personal medical details were made public for the world to gossip about??" another person commented on YouTube.
Piers' response to Kate's second public appearance since she shared her diagnosis offended people a bit less, though. After Kate's Wimbledon appearance, Piers took to X to share his thoughts.
"Lovely to see. ," he wrote on July 14.
After much speculation about Kate Middleton's whereabouts after Kensington Palace disclosed that she had had abdominal surgery in January, on March 22, Kate revealed that she had been diagnosed with cancer.
On June 14, she shared an update about her health via Instagram.
"I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days," Kate shared in June.
She added that her "treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months."
