Local Police Unveil Pink Cop Car To Help Spread Breast Cancer Awareness

October first officially marks the beginning of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Throughout the month there will be demonstrations, celebrations, and promotions that provide hope and awareness centered around breast cancer.

There are plenty of ways that people show their support without organizing events as well.

Many will wear a pink ribbon, which is the logo behind the movement, while others will donate money towards breast cancer treatments and screenings like this amazing football start did.

One particular police station really want above and beyond to show their support for breast cancer battlers and their loves ones.

On October first, they debuted and bright pink police cruiser, showing off the movement's signature shade.

The car will be patrolling all around Salem, Oregon, spreading the breast cancer awareness message while offering a sense of compassion towards the community.

Breast Cancer Awareness Mouth is here, and that means that there will be plenty of promotions and events spreading awareness for the condition, as well as the brave individuals battling it.

It also means that there will be plenty of pink clothing and accessories being worn, showing off the movement's signature color.

While most people will be rocking pink ribbons, pink bandanas, and maybe a pink shirt or two, the police of Salem, Oregon decided to color an entire vehicle pink!

To show their support, the department deputed a bright pink police cruiser.

"We are honored to roll out a pink patrol vehicle on October 1," Deputy Chief Steve Bellshaw explained to flashalert.net. "We want to show our support for all survivors and the cause of curing breast cancer."

It will be assigned for daily patrols and will be available to view at events through the month of October.

The department partakes in plenty of other community-minded promotions including the D.A.R.E. program.

They also organize gift donations for the holidays as well as other holiday events.

The pink vehicle will be a great and mobile way to spread awareness about breast cancer as well as spread comfort and condolences for family members affected.

"As an agency, one of our core values is compassion, and we hope that when survivors and their families see the patrol car, they'll know the Salem Police family is supportive and compassionate of their experience with breast cancer and other devastating illnesses," stated Bellshaw.
