Teenager Finds Deceased Dad’s ”Ghost” In A Video Game

"Player Two" is a commercial that recently went viral for Microsoft Xbox. It's also incredibly touching, and based on a true story. The short film tells the tale of a teenage boy who grows up playing Xbox with his dad, particularly a two-player car racing game. One day, his dad dies suddenly. The Xbox ends up collecting dust in the garage. For years, the boy refuses to play it. It's too emotionally painful.

Ten years pass. The boy is now 16 years old, and he's finally ready to play the Xbox again. With no one else to play with, he pops the racing game into the console and opts to race against the game itself. During his first go around the track, he makes a stunning discovery right there on the TV screen. But you'll have to see it for yourself.

"Player Two" was directed by John Wikstrom, a 25-year-old graduate of Florida State University's College of Motion Picture Arts. A couple years ago, Wikstrom stumbled across a YouTube video titled "Can Video Games Be a Spiritual Experience?" Buried in the comments section, a man told the incredible story about how when he was 16, he discovered his late father's "ghost" in a car racing video game. Overwhelmingly inspired, Wikstrom kept the idea in his back pocket and turned that one simple YouTube comment into one of the year's most acclaimed commercials.

Just goes to show — if you're open to it, you never know where or when a spirit will come to visit. Please enjoy this awesome commercial, and SHARE "Player Two" with your friends on Facebook.
