Most mammals exhibit an astounding maternal instinct when it comes to their young.
Whether they are mama rhinos who keep a close watch on their adorable babies or that unforgettable giant panda who won't stop licking her cub during an emotional reunion, these beautiful creatures are very protective of their offspring.
What we see below is another instance of a mother's love captured on video. This time, a mother polar bear comes to the rescue of her little cub in an epic way.
The mother, Kurumi, and 4-month-old Milk are seen hanging right near a body of water. Polar bears are known for being playful, so it's not surprising that little Milk can't stop moving around. Just watch her rolling around on the snow!
At the :35 mark, however, the cub slips and lands right into the water. Yes, polar bears are strong swimmers and have great endurance. But, little Milk hasn't learned to maneuver through the water yet and he starts struggling to stay afloat.
That's when his mom dives in to bring him to safety. It's unbelievable to see the moment Kurumi help Milk up at the :50 mark.
Once saved, Milk runs over to his mom almost like an attempt to say "thank you." And the way they interact throughout the rest of the video will probably make your heart melt.
