Florida Officer Photographed Helping An Elderly Woman In Need

One officer from Florida was photographed going above and beyond for a stranger in need.

On Monday, the Sarasota Police Department shared two photos on Facebook of Officer Scott Patrick helping an elderly woman while on duty. He received a phone call informing him that her mobility scooter had broken down in the middle of the street.

"Officer Patrick found her near Poplar and Tuttle, her back wheels locked up and the scooter wouldn't roll anymore," the post reads. "The woman told Officer Patrick she just charged it up and rides it to the store to do her shopping."

Like the Philadelphia police officer who was unknowingly filmed helping teens carry bags to the laundromat and the Virginia State Trooper who assisted a 20-year-old whose car broke down, the cop also didn't hesitate to step in.

"Officer Patrick asked where she lived, and she said about 5 blocks away, so he told her he would push her home," the post continues.

Some residents who commented on the Facebook post were delighted to see Officer Patrick's good deed. However, others weren't surprised that he would lend a helping hand.

"He's always been a good cop," a commenter named Kathleen Lukas wrote.
