When you go to church on Sunday, it's obviously important to pay attention to what the preacher is saying up on the pulpit. He has spent all week crafting a lesson, after all, but I have to admit I am guilty of letting my mind wander every now and then while he's up there doing his thing. No offense to my preacher, but sometimes those speeches get a little dry. Especially ones I've heard more than once already… They're all wonderful stories, of course, and I have noticed him kicking up his level of pizzazz over the years.
But I have to say, my favorite part of any service has always been the music. Listening to those talented singers belt out worship at the top of their lungs sends every word straight to my heart and soul. It's simply impossible not to sway along with every note! And it's the perfect boost of energy right around the time you happen to see another parishioner accidentally nodding off in the back pews.
While my services tend to stick to purely instrumental forms of musical praise, I loved stumbling across this beautiful dance number from Grace Christian Church in South Carolina. The young ladies are dressed in lovely matching white gowns that flow along with them and the rhythm so wonderfully. Standing in front of their congregation, you can hear the members encouragement throughout the routine as they perform the charming choreography to "Take Me to the King" by Tamela Mann.
