In 2008, the man behind "Tiny House Listings" began devoting his time to sharing the benefits of living in a smaller, less-expensive and more humble homes that free up time and cash. Recently, he and his father decided to take a road trip and sneak away for some serious solitude. Using Airbnb, the pair discovered a bright purple and blue school bus nestled in the woods, parked in a meadow and beside a stream on a small farm in Saxapahaw, North Carolina. Um… yes, please!
They had never heard of this place before, but that only made the trip that much more interesting and special. And as you're about to see, this converted school bus is simple, practical and peaceful — and it makes the perfect crash pad for a nightlong getaway.
From exploring the countryside and farm animals to sleeping amongst the stars, this father-son duo proves you don't have to spend an extraordinary amount of money an incredible experience. "While the amenities were very sparse, staying in this bus reminded me of just how little we need to survive, and how cheaply we can attain it," he says.
I don't know about you, but I would love to spend a night in this adorable purple school bus. Please enjoy, and SHARE this with your friends on Facebook!
