Where I'm from, it's not just cats and dogs that are considered as pets. Exotic birds or slithery snakes weren't even the strangest critters you could find us cuddling up with in our homes. For instance, one of my favorite things about visiting my great-aunt Treva in Arkansas was always stopping by to see how her fluffy raccoon, Rocky, was doing. Named after The Beatles song, "Rocky Raccoon," I would beg my mom for one of my own before we even made it back home!
Of course, you can't just grab a wild animal off the ground and call it your pet, something I didn't quite grasp as a child being told "No" by my mom time and time again. You just never know when even the sweetest looking creatures are hiding a fierce personality. They aren't called "wild" for nothing, y'know! But Rocky was always a perfect gentlemen, thanks to my aunt's expert knowledge on caring for the cutie.
The little guy in the video below seems to take after him, if not just a bit too over-eager for affection. Kneeling next to the cat lying on the bed, the silly guy tries so, so hard to gain the feline's favor. He reaches his tiny little paws out to the very indifferent cat's face, but something tells me the cat would rather stay cozy all on his lonesome. Even after their human pulls the cat away to a slightly safer distance, the raccoon remains preciously persistent.
