Please help us pray for these two little angels!
Conner and Carter Mirabal were born in early December at the Wolfson Children's Hospital. Their parents weren't even planning on having another child so quickly after their first son, let alone two, but when they realized they were pregnant a second time, they were over the moon. Their joy turned to worry, however, when they learned that the twins were conjoined at their stomaches — each having a separate liver, but sharing a small intestine.
Recently, doctors at Wolfson Children's performed a three-and-a-half-hour surgery to start the separation process of the twins' intestine. Today, the twins are recovering and in good health. A second surgery to finish the process will be performed after they have fully recovered.
"They're our miracle babies,” the boys' aunt told local news outlets. “They really are. We weren't promised their lives. God gave them to us. As crazy as this has all been, it's not a burden to us, it's a blessing. We wouldn't have it any other way. We really wouldn't."
Please send good thoughts to the Mirabal family so these two precious boys can one day live a normal life!
