Look Closely At This Shot Of The Finish Line. When I Saw Her Running, I Just Broke Down.

It's been more than two years since the Boston Marathon Bombing and although most of the victims' physical wounds have healed, the emotional damage that the terrorists caused will never be undone.

For Rebekah Gregory, April 15th, 2013 is a day she'll never forget. In a Facebook post from March 4, 2014, Rebekah wrote to attacker Dzhokhar Tsarnaev: "You are one of the men responsible for nearly taking my child, and for the permanent image embedded in my brain of watching someone die." He's also the man who caused her to have her left leg amputated.

I can't even imagine how difficult this tragedy has been for Rebekah, but she's been a true inspiration to people all over the world for speaking out about the incident that nearly killed her. Rebekah attended the marathon as a spectator. She'd only been on a couple of dates with Pete DiMartino when she joined him to watch his mother in the race, so when the couple tied the knot in 2014, it had us all crying happy tears.

If I were in Rebekah's position, I'm not sure I'd ever be able to return to the scene of the attack. But, as we learned in this video, she wanted to make an appearance at this year's race. However, she wasn't cheering on the marathon runners, she decided to cross the finish line herself and show Tsarnaev, his brother, and the rest of the world that nothing could hold her back.

After crossing the finish line, Rebekah told ESPN, "I took my life back today. I want people to know that there's life after bad things that happen to you. And if I can be someone's hope or inspiration, that's what I want to do."
