Beatboxing is a super cool skill that involves making percussion sounds with your mouth. There are few people who can do it, and even fewer who can do it well. But for a young Portuguese man named João Barreira, beatboxing alone wasn't enough of a challenge. So he added another instrument into the mix.
For most of us, the only experience we've had with a recorder was in fifth-grade music class, but João takes it to a whole new level. He plays the woodwind instrument while beatboxing to create an awesome sound that I could listen to over and over again. I have no idea how he does this, but I can't get enough of it!
The last time I was so surprised by a beatboxer was when this quiet, unassuming kid busted out some serious beats in the middle of class. It just goes to show that anyone can do this neat skill if they put their mind and mouth to it! Just like this baby who tries to imitate his dad, João has probably been practicing this talent since he was very, very young…and it's definitely paid off!
It's hard enough to beatbox and play the recorder at the same time, but João isn't just playing random beats and notes; he's created a legitimately incredible song! Even if I didn't know that it was just one person making all the sounds for this tune using only his mouth, I'd still love listening to it!
