Restaurant Owner Finds Homeless Person Digging Through Her Trash, Responds With Note On Door

Ashley Jiron owns P.B. Jams, a down-home diner in Oklahoma City, OK. The restaurant is known for its good food, laid-back vibe, and friendly staff.

In April, 2015, Ashley noticed someone had been rummaging through the restaurant's trash bins out back. The food containers in particular were torn open and scattered, and it was clear to her that someone was looking for food.

Ashley didn't get mad, and she wasn't complacent. In fact, she couldn't bare to think of someone having to sort through her trash in order to eat. So, she decided to do something about it.

She printed out and taped up two signs — one on the restaurant door and the other on the dumpster. She vowed not to take them down until the person came forward.

When a customer noticed the unexpected signage, he snapped a picture and posted it on Instagram. Within days, the photo had been shared thousands of times.
