Watch The” Final Performance” Of Riverdance Recorded In 1995

Riverdance is known for its traditional Irish music and dance, along with its originating star, Michael Flatley. In 1994, Riverdance debuted as a live stage show in Dublin, Ireland. Since then, it has visited over 450 venues worldwide, and has been seen by over 25 million people. It's one of the most revered dance productions in the world, due in part to Michael Flatley's choreography and state presence.

As successful as Riverdance had become, financial riffs and creative differences caused the producers to part ways with Michael Flatley just 21 hours before the show was set to open for their second run in London on October 3, 1995. That's why the following performance is known as "The Final performance" of Riverdance. After this, Michael Flatley was replaced by nine-time World Irish Dancing Champion Colin Dunne.

Michael Flatley went on to create "Lord of the Dance." This final performance of Riverdance, however, still holds up as one of the most powerful dance clips we've ever seen. One YouTube commenter says, "It's awesome to see on this small screen and it must be astounding in real life. If you've never watched Michael Flately you must stop and do it. If you have … do it again. I can no longer walk, let alone dance, but I get an even bigger thrill now from watching the joy dancing brings to artist and audience member alike."
