When Amanda Sallaska and her husband Grant, discovered they were having quadruplets, it was presumably miracle enough. However, when they were born premature at 25 weeks in 2014, the Liberal, KS, family needed a more dire miracle.
The quadruplets, Alyssa, Carter, Miles, and Bentley, weighed less than 2 pounds each. They spent weeks in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the University of Colorado Hospital.
"It has been a long, rough road, but thanks to God, first and foremost. and thanks to the medical staff at UCH, I am proud to say all babies are now doing well. and we hope to have some home within the next month," Amanda said.
At 3 months old, the quads were still being treated in the NICU, but a nurse told Amanda it would be a great idea to do a photo op with the Christmas stockings.
"Christmas for us is about Jesus and family, and with all that has happened the last several months we just want to be together to celebrate the birth of our Savior and enjoy one other's company as a family," Grant said.
The photoshoot was the first time Amanda was able to hold all four babies at the same time.
Today the Sallaska quadruplets are thriving, and the family documents their growth and progress on the Sallaska Quad Squad Facebook page.
