Sandy Hook survivor Isaiah Márquez-Greene went to a New York Rangers game and was expecting nothing more than to receive a jersey from his favorite player, team captain Jacob Trouba. But to his surprise, he also received an incredibly generous gift.
Isaiah, who is now 18, attended Sandy Hook Elementary School when the gruesome school shooting took place in 2012. His sister, Ana, was one of the victims. She was only 6 years old.
Isaiah is now preparing to attend the undergraduate law program at the University of Connecticut. During the New York Ranger's game, to his surprise, he was gifted with a scholarship from Jacob.
“This is for you. It’s from the Garden of Dreams. It’s a scholarship for law school," Jacob said as he handed Isaiah the certificate. "You’re going to graduate from college, you’re going to go to law school and you’re going to have no debt coming out of school.”

Isaiah was completely taken aback by the gift.
"No way," he said. Jacob ended up giving Isaiah his number so that they could keep in touch.
“I’m looking forward to what you accomplish in life,” Jacob told him. “You’ve got a lot ahead of you.”
