If you are a teacher, or if there are any teachers in your life, you probably know how difficult their job is, but also how rewarding. Trying to mold the minds of young people isn't easy, but when they learn something new and can apply it to their lives, then the job is done. Teachers often end up having very personal relationships with their students, some of whom may inspire them to become better people, and even more invested in their jobs.
Just check out these teachers, who were challenged to tell students how they encourage them to be the best possible educators.
Often, the teachers' efforts don't go unnoticed. Students tend to repay their instructors in kindness. That's exactly what all 625 students of Wisconsin's Riverdale Middle School did when they found out that a beloved teacher, Jeff Petrie, wouldn't be able to be the grand marshal of the homecoming parade.
Petrie's lymphoma prevented him from going back to work, and he even spent some time in hospice care.
The middle schoolers climbed into nine buses, and showed up at his front door, bringing the parade to him!
This came as a complete surprise to Petrie, though his family knew about the plan and kept it a secret from him.
The teacher is extremely grateful for the students' gesture, knowing that he's made an impact on their lives and has touched their hearts.
