Just weeks away from Christmas, a single mother was devastated to learn burglars had broke into her Indianapolis home and stolen most of her stuff, including her son's wrapped Christmas toys! The burglary couldn't come at a worse time. Karie had fallen on hard times and knew she wouldn't be able to replace all of her son's gifts in time for Christmas.
The next day, the police officers from the department's Northwest District headquarters, who had taken down the report of the burglary, were back at Karie's front door. She was surprised to see the cops bearing gifts for her son.
They took their own money to replace the items, so the single mom and her son could have a Merry Christmas. It's amazing to see law enforcement officers going above and beyond the call of duty to help save Christmas for this family.
