During one's graduation ceremony, there's nothing more comforting than having your loved ones there to share the big moment. Yet, when there's a family member serving in the Military, it's never certain that they'll be back home in time from deployment.
When Joshua Patterson was graduating from his nursing program at Indian Hills Community College in Iowa, he was under the impression his sister Stephanie wouldn't be there because she was stationed in Honduras. But, like the staff sergeant who unexpectedly showed up to her mom's graduation for an incredible surprise, Joshua's sister also had a big one waiting for her brother — and he really had no idea.
As Joshua stepped off the stage with his diploma, it was announced through the loudspeaker that his sister returned home from deployment to support her brother on his big achievement. She would also be the one pinning the nursing graduate on his big day.
His emotional reaction will probably bring tears to your eyes (just wait till you see them hug at :57). His response also emphasizes the deep bond that exists between siblings, even if they live miles or oceans apart.
The audience also couldn't stop clapping for this beautiful brother/sister moment.
