When on the air, reporters have to keep a professional appearance and demeanor — After all, large audiences watch them and rely on them for important information, like the news, weather, and traffic reports.
It's not an easy job, and sometimes, some surprises can interrupt the normal flow of news. Check out the reporter, for example, who thought her green dress wouldn't blend in with the morning report!
Occasionally, these surprises aren't of the pleasant kind. Weatherman Bryan Hughes undoubtedly wasn't the first to freak out live on the air, but thanks to WCVB's Olessa Stepanova, he certainly wasn't the last! Stepanova and her coanchors were hilariously disgusted when they saw a rogue spider on the camera lens for a live traffic feed. The lens magnified the spider tenfold and more, making it take up the entire right side of the screen.
Stepanova, initially taken aback, continued her report for a few seconds before her absolute disgust became too overpowering. The camera quickly cut to a map view instead of the live feed.
We're sure that the reporter wasn't the only person who couldn't stand the sight of the insect. Spiders are spooky enough when they're tiny. How much more when they're huge?
