If it wasn't for a group of kind people, 12-year-old Scarlett may not have lived another day. The horse was found tied to a post out in the West Virginia woods. The sun was blaring hot and Scarlett had no shelter, food or water — not to mention, her feeble body was skin and bones, and she couldn't even stand! She'd die in a matter of days.
Finally, a heroic woman found Scarlett, climbed the fence and brought water, food and shelter. From that day forward, she and her family were determined to bring this horse back to full health!
