Pup Stolen *2 Years Ago* Found Thousands Of Miles From Home. A Reminder To NEVER Lose Hope!

It was a quiet night in Newburgh, New York back in May, 2012 when Giuseppe DiBella took his eyes of his puppy and best friend, Nika, and lost her forever… or so he thought.

DiBella searched far and wide for his 6-month-old toy fox terrier, but eventually accepted that the dog was stolen and never returning to him. "It was one of the most horrible days of my life,” DiBella said. A day he never wanted to remember, until he got a shocking phone call last week that Nika had been found, over two years after her disappearance, in the least likely of places.

As fate would have it, DiBella was thinking about getting a new dog when he got the call that Nika was left on a doorstep in Ocala, Florida, over 1,000 miles away from his Orange County home. Nika was identified by her microchip at a local animal shelter, who said she was malnourished and had been neglected. A family friend in Florida is currently nursing Nika back to health until she reunites with her true owner around Thanksgiving.

“I was feeling, like, biblical — when the son comes back to the father, you know, those kind of things,” DiBella said of the dog's reappearance, which can only be described as a true miracle.
